Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday made a veiled attack on Pakistan during his visit to the Maldives, saying that state sponsorship of terrorism is the biggest threat the humanity is facing today.
Narendra Modi also urged the world leaders to unite for combating the menace.
Addressing the Maldivian Parliament, 'the Majlis', PM Modi said that terrorism is not just a threat for a country but to the entire civilisation.
In an apparent reference to Pakistan, PM Modi said, "It is very unfortunate that people are still making the mistake of distinguishing between good terrorists and bad terrorists. State sponsorship of terrorism is the biggest threat the world is facing today."
PM Modi said that relations between India and Maldives are older than history. "Today I want to emphasise that every Indian was with you for the strengthening of democracy in the Maldives," he said.

PM Modi's attack on Pakistan has come a day after Prime Minister Imran Khan, in a letter to PM Modi, said that Islamabad wants talks with New Delhi to resolve all reconcilable problems, including the Kashmir issue.
Imran Khan also said that talks between the two nations were the only solution to help both countries' people overcome poverty and that it was important to work together for regional development, the Geo TV reported.
India in the past has blamed Pakistan for carrying out terrorist attacks in the country and asked it to stop supporting terror outfits operating from its soil.
"The water is now rising above the head," Modi said, adding, "Combating terrorism and radicalisation is the most accurate test of the leadership in the world."
MODI INVOKES 'SABKA SAATH, SABKA VIKAS, SABKA VISHWAAS'
Extending PM Modi's government's motto to the neighbourhood for the first time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday invoked "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwaas" to stress on the high importance that India attaches to its relationship with the Maldives.
Narendra Modi said, "My government's motto of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwaas' [Together with all, for development of all and with the trust of all] is not only for India but is also for the whole world, especially our neighbourhood. This motto is the basis of our [India's] foreign policy."
"Neighbourhood first is also our policy and the significance of Maldives in it (foreign policy) is quite natural," Prime Minister Modi said.
